Classic workwear. Unmistakable stripes. Built for movement—then and now.
The Pike Brothers 1936 Chopper Trousers – Alcatraz are based on mid-1930s woodworker pants, designed for rugged function with a loose, high-waisted fit. Originally worn over other garments, these trousers reflect an era when workwear meant durability—and freedom to move.
But the stripes? They tell a deeper story.
The “Alcatraz White” fabric replicates 19th-century prison stripes—once used to identify inmates at a glance. A visual symbol of confinement.
Worn today, those stripes take on new meaning: a tribute to heritage, and a quiet nod to liberation. A reminder that the stories woven into what we wear can evolve—and that sometimes, what once marked us out becomes what sets us free.
