How to Measure
All measurements are taken from the garment laid flat rather than while
being worn. For the most accurate fit, compare these measurements with a
similar pair of trousers or shorts that already fit you well.
Waist
Fasten the fly and lay the garment flat. Smooth out any wrinkles, then
measure straight across the top of the waistband from left to right.
Front Rise
Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the front waistband,
following the line of the fly.
Back Rise
Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the back waistband,
following the centre seat seam.
Hem Width
Lay the leg opening flat and measure straight across from the outside
seam to the inside seam.
Leg Length
For trousers, leg length is measured from the crotch seam to the bottom
of the hem. Shorts are measured using the same method but naturally have
a shorter inseam.
