The 1943 CPO Wool Shirt in Atlanta Grey comes from a lineage of garments built for life at sea — a world where clothing had to withstand cold decks, harsh winds and relentless salt air. The US Navy refined this design over decades, settling on materials and fits that proved themselves through real, practical use.
This Pike Brothers edition stays true to that heritage. Based on the 1930s–40s originals, the cut has changed very little over the years: generous movement, clean lines and two large chest pockets designed for utility. Traditionally, CPO shirts were made from heavy wool to provide warmth in unforgiving conditions, and this version follows the same principle.
Crafted from 100% merino wool at 460 g/sqm, the fabric is heavily brushed, giving it a soft, thick, felted texture while retaining the density and structure that defines a true CPO. It’s a piece that feels substantial, made with purpose, and built to last.

Heavyweight brushed merino wool gives it enough substance to work as a warm mid-layer or casual outer layer in colder months, and the Atlanta Grey colourway shows the texture particularly well.
