Machinehead Moto Turns One – Gear, Community & Rides in Guildford

A year ago, we opened the doors at Loseley Park with a kettle on, a few rails of gear, and a belief that Guildford needed a place where riders could just be riders. Twelve months later, Machinehead Moto has become more than a store — it’s a community.
We’ve met new faces, seen new bikes, and shared countless miles — but our focus hasn’t changed: supporting riders, sharing knowledge, and building a space that feels like home for the motorcycle community in Guildford and beyond.
Based in the grounds of Loseley Park and surrounded by the Surrey Hills, Machinehead Moto has become a hub for motorcycle culture in Guildford. It’s part store, part workshop, and part meeting place where good coffee, trusted gear, and great conversations come together.
Motorcycle Gear That Works
Every rider knows the value of reliable kit. Our jackets, helmets, boots, gloves, and luggage systems have all been tested on the road in heat, wind, and plenty of Surrey rain. We focus on the details that make a difference: ventilation that works, zips that don’t stick, and seams that last. You’ll find brands like REV’IT!, John Doe, Kriega, Wildust Sisters, and Hedon, alongside smaller independent makers who share our commitment to function over flash.

Who We Ride With
Our community brings together riders from every corner of motorcycling: commuters, explorers, builders, and racers, each with their own story and style. One rider stops in for gloves and ends up planning a trip across Europe. Another visits for a chain adjustment and leaves talking panniers for a Pyrenees tour. These conversations shape how we stock, advise, and ride.
- Commuters — practical, weatherproof gear for the everyday journey
- Retro riders — classic looks with modern protection
- Tourers — long-mile comfort and reliable performance
- Off-roaders — breathable layers and rugged protection
- Track riders — precision gear for confidence at speed
Many of our regulars own more than one bike, each with its own character. Helping them find kit that matches every machine is one of the best parts of the job.
Life Beyond the Bike
For us, riding doesn’t stop when the engine cools. Our Life Collection carries that same attitude into everyday life, with gear that moves with you whether you’re grabbing a coffee, tuning a bike, or heading out for the day. Each piece has a purpose. The fabrics breathe, the pockets make sense, and the fit feels right on and off the bike. It’s clothing that belongs in the same world as your helmet and gloves, just a little more relaxed.
Dirt & Adventure
Some rides start where the tarmac ends. Our Dirt and Adventure Collection is for those who chase the rougher lines — the riders who’d rather finish the day covered in dust than parked in the garage. From Pol Tarrés adventure gear to REV’IT! trailwear, motocross tops, and body armour, everything here has earned its place on real rides.
A few lessons we’ve learned along the way:
- Comfort begins with the cuffs — get them right and the miles feel easier
- Hydration packs and washable liners are worth carrying every time
- Off-road isn’t about looking sharp, it’s about lasting the distance
Riding for a Cause
Motorcycling has always been about more than machines. It’s about people. That’s why we back local charity rides, host events, and support causes that matter to our community. From the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to smaller local fundraisers, we believe riding together means standing together.

Our Workshop
Our motorcycle workshop in Guildford is where ideas and bikes meet. From luggage installs to full rebuilds, every job is handled with the care of people who ride every week themselves. We’ve prepped bikes for Arctic tours, refined ergonomics for long-distance comfort, and fixed the small issues that can ruin a ride. Riders often stop by just to talk through builds, upgrades, or plans. It’s that kind of place.

Every Bike Tells a Story
Bring your ideas, whether it’s a napkin sketch, a parts list, or a “what if” moment. We’ll grab a coffee, talk it through, and figure out how to make it happen. With the store right beside the workshop, you can roll your bike in, chat things over, and see the work taking shape. That connection between rider and mechanic is what keeps it personal — it’s about trust, conversation, and a shared love of motorcycles.

What Makes Us Different
No waiting rooms. No closed weekends. Just open doors, good coffee, and time to talk things through. We’re not about rushing service or chasing numbers. We’re about building relationships with riders across Surrey and beyond.
Join the Movement
One year down, and we’re just getting started. Machinehead Moto has grown from an idea into a home for riders — a place where good coffee, trusted gear, and real conversations always come together. The best part isn’t the gear or the bikes — it’s the people who roll in, swap stories, and head out again together. Drop by the shop at Loseley Park, check out what’s new, or join a ride-out through the Surrey Hills. Whether you stay five minutes or the afternoon, you’ll fit right in.
Here’s to year two — more rides, more stories, and plenty more miles ahead.
