Bikes & Banter – Over £500 Raised for the British Heart Foundation
Over £500 raised in just two hours.
We were so busy talking, laughing and properly enjoying the evening with you all, that we forgot to take photos for “content”. Which probably tells you everything about the night.
Some riders came alone.
Some arrived in groups.
Some brought their entire family.
There were plans for quick pop-ins before collecting takeaways, but most people stayed longer than expected.
Crisps and pretzels became dinner for a few, and the workshop and shop quickly filled with easy conversation. This wasn’t simply about reaching a fundraising target.
It was riders supporting other riders — and families who have walked through our doors over the last two years who’ve been quietly affected by heart issues. That’s why this one mattered.
We kept things simple:
Help-yourself drinks.
Snacks on the bench.
A QR code to donate.
And you showed up.
In just two hours, the JustGiving page passed £500 — and since then, your coffee and cake donations in store have kept that total climbing.
We’ll continue the fundraising in store over the coming weeks using the same QR code posters — tap to donate and we’ll happily exchange it for coffee and cake.
Seeing that total tick over so quickly, during such a relaxed and generous gathering, felt incredibly special.
It confirmed something we already knew — the bike community looks after its own.
The only slightly chaotic moment came during event prep, when we decided balloons were a good idea and discovered that an air compressor inflates them far faster than expected. Quite a few popped randomly throughout the evening — physics always wins.
Nothing forced.
Nothing formal.
Just good people, bikes bringing us together, thoughtful conversation, and a shared purpose.
Over £500 raised — and still counting.
A workshop full of laughter.
Thank you ❤️

We’ll do it again.
